At its best, Queen is campy fun like the Vincent Price horror classics of the '60s. At its worst, it implodes in a series of very bad special effects.. Queen of the Damned wouldn't be so bad if it weren't so boring.. . The meta-fiction concept of characters interacting with their creator is hardly original, but it's neatly packaged here by Kazan herself, who wrote the script for this clever little charmer.. If you don't like the movie, it's solely because you're not a fan of this type of escapis...
